Thoughts: Blame.

Everybody blames it on something, whether its on the alcohol or the A.D.D, its always something.  I jest, but really no matter how you slice it, its true these two songs may not have had the intention to hint toward it but at the end of the day most artists will tell you it's not about what they intended the art work to say it's what the viewer gets out of it.  I feel like these artists are hinting to the fact that society today has fallen into this epidemic of non responsibility,  we blame everybody and everything but our selves.  Its a real problem and I am tired of it.  Its not just todays society, though its been happening for some time now, (anybody remember add?).  A.D.D, a clever little disorder that spawned another "more serious" disorder called A.D.H.D.  Now I am not trying to discredit doctors or go on some tangent about the drug companies having some conspiracy, but I will say that some parents (not all) jumped to these disorders all too quickly and way over zealously.  I mean it was a way to explain why little Jimmy was so unruly, because there's absolutely no way it was mom and dads fault, right?  Lets be honest here, I may not be a parent but, it doesn't take a parent to know that if you don't have guidelines for your kids to follow at home and you aren't assertive or you don't stand your ground, they are going to run all over you!  The young look for guidance and will only follow the lead of those that they sense have a strong resolution.  Its basic human nature.  Its basic animal nature, and what are we but "more advanced" animals?  Before you say "this is only one example of society not taking responsibility" lets look at our education.  Again parents not taking charge in their kids lives,  parents are so quick to blame the school system for their kids lack in education.  If they would just get out and demand better education and get angry about the state of our school systems, then change would happen.  The same could be said for the schools nutritional system as well (and I could talk on nutrition for ages!).  These are only a few of the more major examples but there are many others.  From high school or college students blaming distractions for their poor grades, to adults blaming kids or other life obstacles for their unsuccessfulness.  Come on people! Take responsibility, accept blame, this world has a lot of hardships and roadblocks, but if we can learn anything from history it should be that we are resilient and if enough of us stand up and do something about what we are complaining about then we can actually make a difference.  That last bit reminds me of another topic, but that will have to wait till next time.

P.S. My SSP is official under way as of Tuseday June/26/2012 and I need people to run it by periodically to get feed back so if you would like to be one of them let me know! On Facebook, Twitter, or the comment section below.

Take the blame.
